A message from Mr Yusuf Seedat,

Newly appointed Executive Headteacher

of the Institute of Islamic Education

Dear respected Parents/Guardians

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon you.

I hope you are in the best of health and Imaan.

I am truly honoured to be appointed as the Executive Headteacher of the Institute of Islamic Education and also the confidence the Executive board & trustees have placed in me to bring the necessary changes required to make this a truly successful school. I look forward to working with you in order to help your child attain the best in this life and the next with the permission of Allah.

It is a privilege to introduce myself as the Executive Headteacher of the Institute of Islamic Education.  I have worked as an inspector since 2009 with CfBT and I have previously inspected with an independent inspection provider. I am a qualified teacher and I have held senior management positions in various independent schools.  I have also been a headteacher in 3 different schools all rated outstanding or good with outstanding features by OFSTED. The last school in which I took over and I worked until my retirement in April 2021, was rated outstanding in all features (2018) and was also the recipient of the prestigious award of Transformational leader by the Association of Muslim Schools. I was also shortlisted at the British Muslim Awards for Services to Education in January 2014.  In March 2018 I was honoured with the Interfaith Lifetime Achievement award.

This is an opportunity provided to me, Insha Allah, to take the school forward, raising achievement levels without compromising on the Islamic ethos of the school. I have the vision to provide effective Islamic education for the 21st Century in which the Islamic values, education and curriculum will focus on the personality and character development of the students and the real needs and concerns of students. Also to prepare students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to function successfully as Muslims leaders in today’s society so they can contribute to humanity as a whole. This will come from the collaborative work of the students, staff, parents, executive Board, trustees of the IOIE and well-wishers in the community.

I believe a student’s education and tarbiyah is not a dress rehearsal, but a once in a lifetime chance.  Each individual will be nurtured and shaped by the values of the Islamic Faith, given an opportunity to achieve to their full potential and to develop a passion for life and learning.

I am really looking forward to meeting all of the parents and carers at the school. I have an open-door policy and I welcome any feedback from parents. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries, concerns or there is anything I can do to help and support you with your student’s learning and school life. I would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support towards the staff and pupils of this school.

We pray for all of our teachers, non-teaching staff, volunteers, management, executive board and more importantly our students and their parents for their hard work and the support in making this Institute a successful school.

May Allah accept everyone’s effort for His cause
